Traveling to Ibiza

Which are the ports of Ibiza?

There are 2 ports in Ibiza: Ibiza Town and San Antonio.

The port of Ibiza (or Elvissa) is located in the old town of Ibiza and is the island's main ferry port. It is connected to the neighboring Balearic islands, as well as the ports of mainland Spain. It is easily accessible from the town center and the airport.

The smaller harbor of San Antonio is located on the southwest coast. It is mostly used by boats and yachts. There are no active ferry routes from/to this port. 

What islands are near Ibiza?

The islands closer to Ibiza are Formentera, Es Vedrà, and Mallorca. Ibiza is one of the major islands of the Balearics along with Formentera, Mallorca, and Menorca. There are more islands and islets to visit during your holidays in Ibiza, such as S’ Espalmador and Cabrera. Most of the islands in the Balearic archipelago are connected by ferry or boat, so grab the opportunity and go island hopping in Spain!

Ibiza is one of the top destinations for island hopping in the world. You can travel to Mallorca and Formentera throughout the year, and continue your ferry journey in the Balearics from there. Moreover, there are regular ferries departing from Ibiza to some of the most important ports of mainland Spain.

Ferry from Ibiza to Formentera

Traveling from Ibiza to Formentera by ferry is easy and fast. There are multiple daily crossings from the port of Ibiza Town to La Savina in Formentera. The route is operated by 4 ferry companies: Baleària, Trasmapi, Formentera Lines, and Aquabus. The journey takes from around 30 minutes to 1 hour. Tickets are at €15-€29.

Tip: we recommend spending at least 2 days in Formentera, to see the untamed nature and hippie open-air markets.

Ferry from Ibiza to Mallorca

The Ibiza - Mallorca (Palma) ferry route is active all year round with around 9 weekly crossings. The connection is operated by Baleària and Trasmed, and ferry tickets start at €54. It takes 2-4 hours to reach Mallorca, an island famous for its secluded beaches, impressive architecture and mouth-watering dishes.

Tip: from Mallorca, you can continue your island-hopping vacation to Menorca. The Mallorca - Menorca ferry route is available with at least 2 daily crossings.

Ferry from Ibiza to Barcelona

The Ibiza - Barcelona ferry connection is one of the most popular ones in Spain. Baleària, GNV (Grandi Navi Veloci) and Trasmed operate around 14 weekly crossings that last 7.5-10 hours. Standard tickets start at €15, depending on the company and the season.

Ferry from Ibiza to Dénia

The Ibiza - Dénia ferry route is normally operated by Baleària daily throughout the year. In high season, there are 7-12 weekly sailings, with a duration of 2-3 hours. Ferry tickets start at around €70. 

Tip: the port city of Dénia is home to wonderful beaches and it's a great starting point to explore the region.

Ferry from Ibiza to Valencia

There are daily ferry crossings from Ibiza to Valencia served by Baleària, GNV and Trasmed. You can find approximately 17 weekly crossings, with prices starting at around €20. The ferry takes around 5-7 hours to reach the port of Valencia. 

Tip: visiting the cultural center Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias is a must!
