  • With Positano Jet, you can bring on board one piece of luggage with a maximum size of 55x40x20 cm, by paying an additional fee of €3. Handbags and backpacks are allowed free of charge.
  • On the ferries of Travelmar, each passenger is entitled to 1 piece of luggage with a maximum size of 45x35x20 cm free of charge. For heavier and/or larger luggage, there is €2 fee.
  • On Grassi Junior ferries, you can bring your luggage on board by paying an additional fee of €2.
  • On Alicost ferries, you can carry up to 9 kg of luggage, with a maximum size of 50x35x20 cm.
  • The company Caronte & Tourist allows each passenger to bring along 1 carry-on luggage that does not exceed 20 kg. Children paying half-price fares are entitled to half the allowance (10 kg). 

Traveling with pets

You can travel with your pet on the ferry to Positano from Salerno. To be allowed on board, all pets should hold a ticket. Smaller animals must be kept in special carriers, while large-sized animals must be equipped with a muzzle and a leash.

Where to take the ferry from Salerno to Positano

Normally, ferries from Salerno to Positano depart from Molo Manfredi and Molo Masuccio (Piazza della Concordia) in the port of Salerno. The two piers are 20 min apart on foot. We always recommend that you check with the ferry operator about departure gates, as they may change.

Tip: in Molo Manfredi, you can visit the famous seashell-shaped maritime station, designed by Zaha Hadid.

Where does the ferry arrive in Positano?

Ferries from Salerno dock at the main pier in the port of Positano. The small harbour is very close to the town center and the famous Marina Grande beach.

Most of the shops are located in the streets that lead to the upper part of the town.
