Here are 7 useful tips to organize the perfect vacation in Capri:

1. We recommend arriving at your departure port at least 1 hour in advance as Capri is a popular destination, especially during the summer and on weekends.
2. Capri makes a perfect day trip from other top destinations, such as Sorrento, Positano, Amalfi and Naples, thanks to their proximity and frequent ferry connections. 
3. Alternatively, you could plan an island hopping tour in the Gulf of Naples! Start in Capri, before setting sail to beautiful Ischia and ending your trip in Procida.
4. Be sure to visit the area of Anacapri, which is usually less crowded. From here you can take a chairlift that will take you right up to Mount Solaro where you can enjoy stunning views of the gulf.
5. The main attractions of the island, such as the Faraglioni rocks and the Piazzetta, are best enjoyed early in the morning before the crowds arrive.
6. Capri is just as beautiful in the spring and autumn months. Consider planning a visit in the low season as the weather is milder, you will find fewer visitors and ticket prices are usually lower!
7. Remember to wear comfortable shoes! Capri's narrow streets and scenic trails require suitable footwear to be explored properly.

You can travel to Capri primarily on hydrofoils, although conventional ferries are also available on certain routes. 

If traveling by hydrofoil, you will usually be able to book a numbered seat in areas with air-conditioning. Conventional ferries, on the other hand, offer large spaces, with internal and external decks where you can enjoy the views of the Gulf of Naples.

As most crossings to Capri are carried out by hydrofoils, vehicles are not allowed on many ferries to the island. However, on some conventional ferries and during certain times of the year you will be able to travel with your vehicle. Make sure to make the appropriate checks about vehicle regulations on the island before booking your ferry tickets. 

On board the conventional ferries to Capri you will often find cafes, where you can buy snacks and drinks. Pets are also welcome on board: smaller ones must travel in their carriers, while larger ones are required to wear a leash and muzzle. 

As for luggage, the rules vary depending on the company and the type of vessel. On hydrofoils, 1 hand luggage is usually included in the ticket, while any extra luggage can be added to your booking for a small fee. 

The port of Capri, in the charming town of Marina Grande, is the main access point to the island. Framed by a natural inlet, the port’s beautiful setting welcomes visitors from the moment they arrive by ferry.

Near the port you will find a variety of services, including cafes, restaurants, shops, and luggage storage facilities. There is also a taxi rank, bus services, and a funicular, which will take you to the famous “Piazzetta” in just a few minutes.
