How to get to Anzio

Very close to Rome and only 3km from the city of Nettuno, Anzio is well connected and easily accessible from all over Italy by car, train and bus. You can also reach the port of Anzio by ferry from the island of Ponza, but only during the summer.

Regional trains depart from Roma Termini station and arrive at Anzio station in 1 hour. From Rome Eur and Rome Anagnina stations, on the other hand, you can take the Cotral buses, with departures every 30 minutes.

For those who choose to travel by plane, you can fly first to Ciampino or Fiumicino airports in Rome and then take the train from Roma Termini to Anzio station.

What to do in Anzio

Food is one of the main reasons why many choose to visit Anzio. In fact, many people from Rome come to Anzio just for the day to escape the chaos and eat well in one of the many restaurants in the area.

Transportation in Anzio

Anzio is well connected by 4 bus lines that allow you to move easily around town. Most of the beaches are within walking distance, but still there are several bus stops near them.

There are also taxi services available, but the fares may be quite high. 

Ports in Anzio

The Port of Marina di Capo D’Anzio is located in the city center and is characterized by the presence of two piers from which the ferries to the island of Ponza depart.

Near the port you will find shops of various kinds, bars and restaurants, and 2 paid guarded car parks.

To reach the port from the outskirts of Anzio you can take the Gioia bus. 

Anzio ferry: schedules and tickets

From the port of Anzio, ferries depart to Ponza only during summer. In winter, the Pontine Islands are only accessible from the port of Formia.

The company that serves the Anzio - Ponza route is Laziomar, which operates up to 9 weekly crossings. The ferry journey lasts approximately 1.5 hours. 

Tip: during summer, the circulation of non-residents cars is prohibited in Ponza. We therefore recommend that you leave your car in the numerous guarded parking lots located near the port of Anzio.
